The Last Of Us Season 3 Officially Casts New Villain

One of the actors from the talented cast of Sinners is set to appear in The Last of Us season 3.

Season two of The Last of Us is based on the game The Last of Us Part II. It begins five years after the first season, with Ellie (Bella Ramsey) and Joel (Pedro Pascal) settled in Jackson, Wyoming. However, the story becomes much more intense when Joel is killed by Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), and Ellie sets out to get revenge.

As reported by Variety, Li Jun Li, known for her role as Grace Chow in Sinners, will play Miriam in season 3 of The Last of Us. Miriam is a villain from the Seraphites and the mother of Lev and Yara. Interestingly, this character is original to the TV show and doesn’t appear in any of the The Last of Us video games, adding an element of surprise for viewers.

Li is one of several new faces joining the cast of The Last of Us for season 3, along with Jason Ritter and Patrick Wilson. Additionally, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, and Spencer Lord, who previously made guest appearances in season 2, have been promoted to series regulars.

HBO’s The Last of Us is adapted from a popular action-adventure video game. The series takes place in a United States ravaged by a fungal outbreak that has decimated most of the population. The story centers on Joel, a smuggler tasked with guiding Ellie, a teenage girl who somehow isn’t affected by the infection, on a perilous cross-country trip.

The Last of Us was a huge hit with both critics and players, celebrated for its compelling story, well-developed characters, and high production values. As of late 2022, over 37 million copies had been sold globally, establishing it as one of PlayStation’s most important franchises. Its popularity has been boosted by updated versions, a complete remake, and a highly-rated sequel.

As of today, HBO hasn’t announced an official release date for season 3 of The Last of Us, but it’s currently predicted to arrive in 2027.
