Spider-Man 4’s Tom Holland Teases ‘Fun’ New Scenes Being Added to MCU Movie

Tom Holland announced that they’re adding extra scenes to Spider-Man: Brand New Day before it comes out this summer.

What did Tom Holland say about the new scenes in Spider-Man 4?

Tom Holland recently told GQ that he’s currently in London filming extra photos for the movie ‘Brand New Day.’ He described the work as “a lot of fun” and hinted at a new plot development.

Holland believes the movie is already strong and doesn’t require the additional scenes they’re working on. He describes the new material as enhancements – like ‘icing on the cake’ – that will add more humor and introduce a villain storyline in a fresh way. He feels confident the core of the film is solid and these additions will only improve it.

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man in his fourth standalone Marvel movie. He previously played the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). He also appeared as Spider-Man in several other Marvel films, including Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day begins four years after the events of No Way Home. Following Dr. Strange’s spell, the world no longer remembers who Peter Parker is.

Now operating in a New York City where he’s largely forgotten, Spider-Man has fully committed to protecting it. But as the challenges he faces grow, he begins to physically change in unexpected ways, and a new wave of crime introduces a formidable enemy – potentially his greatest yet.

Okay, so beyond Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange in Spider-Man: No Way Home (which is what I think people mean by ‘Brand New Day’!), the movie also stars Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and some seriously awesome additions like Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. We even get Michael Mando as Scorpion and Mark Ruffalo showing up as the Hulk! It’s a packed cast, and I’m really excited to see how they all fit together.

Sadie Sink, known for her role in Stranger Things, has joined the cast of Spider-Man 4, though details about her character are currently unknown. Some believe she will play Jean Grey. Tramell Tillman is also set to appear in the film.

Destin Daniel Cretton directed Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with the story written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
