Brazilian influencer known for sharing health struggles dead at 31 years old

I was really saddened to hear about Rita Ephrem, a Brazilian influencer, passing away at just 31. She had been openly sharing her battle with a really rare auto-inflammatory disease, and it’s just heartbreaking to see her gone.

News of her passing was shared on March 26th through her social media, where she had gained over 300,000 followers by openly sharing her experiences with illness, treatment, and her strong faith.

I was so moved by the tribute to her. They described her as someone who truly lived life to the fullest – with so much passion, faith, and a huge heart that impacted everyone she met. It sounds like she faced a lot of hardship, but she was incredibly brave through it all. Now, they say she’s finally at peace, resting with the saints and Our Lady in heaven.

Ephrem was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to parents of Lebanese descent. She spent some of her childhood in Lebanon, where she studied mechanical engineering and played futsal. Returning to Brazil at age 25, she soon began to feel very ill, experiencing symptoms like high fever, joint pain, diarrhea, and vomiting, ultimately leading to a diagnosis.
