The film Propeller One-Way Night Coach follows Jeff, a young boy who loves airplanes, and his mother as they travel across the country to Hollywood. What starts as a simple plane trip becomes an unforgettable adventure filled with friendly flight attendants (Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffman), quirky passengers, and exciting peeks into the world of first-class travel. Along the way, Jeff experiences magical and unexpected moments that will shape his future.

John Travolta’s book draws heavily from his childhood memories of watching planes at LaGuardia Airport. This early exposure sparked a lifelong love of aviation, leading him to become a skilled, licensed pilot. Beyond his impressive 50+ year acting career, which began in the early 1970s and continues to this day – including an upcoming directorial project – Travolta has earned advanced flying certifications and logged countless hours in the air.

John Travolta is making his directorial debut at Cannes with Propeller One-Way Night Coach, but his connection to the festival goes back almost fifty years. He first gained recognition as a rising star and has since become a celebrated veteran. A key moment in his career was his performance as Vincent Vega in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1994. He was also the first to receive Variety‘s Cinema Icon Award, recognizing his long and successful career, and now he’s back at Cannes to showcase his first feature film as a director.

After premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, Propeller One-Way Night Coach will be available to stream on Apple TV starting May 29, 2026. This new release comes after a busy April on the platform, which featured several highly anticipated premieres, returning shows, and exciting new series.
