Ethereum Grows Like Your Aunt’s Meatballs, Despite Price Drama!

Ethereum (ETH) took a little tumble – down 3.5% in just 24 hours. Why? Oh, just the usual geopolitical drama. Nothing to see here!

BeInCrypto reports that none other than President Donald Trump made some choice remarks about Iran, causing all sorts of chaos in crypto, equities, and oil markets. Naturally, Ethereum took a hit, dropping to a modest $2,047. Lovely, right?

But hold on! The real fun is happening behind the scenes. According to Santiment, Ethereum’s network activity is skyrocketing! No, really. Forget the price drop; people are more active than ever. In fact, daily active addresses are hanging around 788,000! And guess what? Ethereum is pulling in around 255,000 new addresses every day. Users just can’t stay away.

This isn’t just a flash-in-the-pan kind of thing. The engagement is strong, and it’s shifting the competitive landscape. Ethereum’s Decentralized Exchange (DEX) market share has jumped from 33% in January to 42% in March. That’s all thanks to Layer 2 networks. No big deal, right?

Meanwhile, Solana’s DEX volumes fell to a measly $55.5 billion in March. The lowest since… well, ever. You hate to see it.

Oh, and don’t even get us started on the holders. Glassnode data shows that ETH held on centralized exchanges has dropped from a hefty 32% in June 2020 to around 11%. What does this mean? Well, according to Leon Waidmann, “Less ETH on exchanges = less immediate sell pressure. Holders are pulling it off and keeping it. At $2K ETH, people aren’t selling. They’re accumulating.” Well, well, well… looks like someone’s buying the dip!

“Four wallets (possibly the same whale) withdrew 32,879 ETH (worth a casual $69M) from Kraken 8 hours ago. Looks like a whale’s out for a swim!”

Now, whether this leads to a price recovery? Who knows! We’ll have to wait and see how the US-Israeli-Iran drama unfolds. It’s a circus out there, folks. Buckle up!
