The Boys showrunner says Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins play “such douchebags” in Season 5

The fifth season of The Boys will bring together stars from the show Supernatural, but according to creator Eric Kripke, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will be playing characters who aren’t exactly heroes.

Over two decades ago, Craig Kripke created the popular TV series Supernatural, and he’s consistently supported the original cast members ever since.

The show ‘The Boys’ cast Jensen Ackles, known for ‘Supernatural,’ as the significant character Soldier Boy. They’ve also featured actors Nathan Mitchell, Jim Beaver, Alvina August, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the series.

Now he’s bringing Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins into the mix, via as-yet-unspecified roles…

We still don’t know which characters they’ll be playing, but a recent interview with Eric Kripke in Entertainment Weekly revealed when they’ll appear and what their roles will be like.

Kripke revealed the characters appear in Episode 5, and he’s thrilled with how unpleasant they are. He described them as ‘terrible people,’ and said that’s what makes them so good.

Soldier Boy isn’t exactly a good guy either, and honestly, none of these characters are particularly moral. It’s really entertaining to see them act that way, and it was just a lot of fun to watch.

Jensen Ackles admitted he was hesitant at first about revisiting the project. He explained that when he heard about the possibility of a reunion, his reaction was positive, but only if it felt justified and made logical sense.

I really care about the show and want to make sure it’s the best it can be. Even though I didn’t start with the original cast, as a longtime fan, I’m committed to making every moment on screen worthwhile.

Ackles expressed satisfaction with how things turned out, explaining that Kripke skillfully incorporated the elements in a surprising and memorable way. He believes this addition moved both the story and the characters forward.
