The next expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game, called Deluxe Pack ex, will be released on September 29th. Each pack is guaranteed to contain at least one rare card. This set will be different from others, as it will only be available for a limited time.
I’m so excited about the new Deluxe Packs! From what I’ve read on the official Pokemon site, each pack is guaranteed to have a super rare card – like one with four stars or higher – from older sets, going all the way back to Genetic Apex and Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Plus, they’re adding these awesome ‘parallel foil’ cards that have a really cool shine to them. And get this – some of our favorite older cards are getting brand new artwork! You can check out a sneak peek at some of the cards in the trailer – it looks amazing!
Unlike earlier Pokemon TCG Pocket expansions, the Deluxe Pack ex set will only be available until October 29th, giving you about a month to benefit from better card pull rates and complete your collection. There are also a couple of exciting events happening during this time, including a chance to get Raichu ex cards and a special Bonus Week with extra rewards.
Since its launch last October, Pokemon TCG Pocket has been consistently releasing new card sets every month. The latest set, Secluded Springs, came out in August and features Pokemon originally from the Gold and Silver video games. Mega Evolutions are also planned for the game this fall, though a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Mega Evolutions will be a key feature in the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A, launching October 16th on Nintendo Switch and the new Nintendo Switch 2. The game takes place entirely within Lumiose City and introduces a completely revamped battle system, changing things up for the series.
