Season four begins after the devastating events of Mark’s battle against the multiverse’s Invincible clones and his intense fight with Conquest, which left the planet in ruins at the end of season three.

Season 4 of Invincible introduces exciting new cast members as the story intensifies for Mark. Lee Pace, known for his roles in The Running Man and Foundation, voices the powerful Viltrumite emperor, Thragg. He’s joined by Djimon Hounsou as Space Racer and Danai Gurira as Universa.

But it turns out Invincible Season 4 also tried to recruit Tom Cruise and Bryan Cranston.

At a screening for Invincible Season 4, Robert Kirkman shared that both Tom Cruise and Bryan Cranston were approached about appearing in the show, but they both declined. Kirkman didn’t say which character he offered to Cruise, but he suggested it was probably a small role due to the actor’s packed schedule.

According to a fan account on X called Invincible News, Kirkman has repeatedly asked Bryan Cranston to appear on the show, but Cranston has declined each time. It’s currently unknown what roles were offered to the Breaking Bad actor.

While fans thought it would have been great to hear Tom Cruise and Bryan Cranston voice characters on the show, they also recognized there would have been some downsides to having them involved.

Someone commented that the filmmakers were aiming for incredibly famous and highly-paid actors, praising their ambition but noting it would likely have used up a large portion of the film’s funds. Others playfully suggested Tom Cruise turned down the role because it didn’t involve performing actual stunts.
