Barry Keoghan reveals he’s a “big gamer” but the internet isn’t having it

Barry Keoghan recently said he’s a keen gamer, but people online are questioning his claim after noticing something off in a photo he shared.

Over the past ten years, Barry Keoghan has become a prominent actor in Hollywood. He started out in independent films but has since starred in major blockbusters such as Eternals, The Batman, and Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, as well as the film Crime 101.

The upcoming film features Duke Shelby, the son of the notorious gangster Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy), who takes over the family’s criminal organization in Birmingham during World War II. While many actors from the original TV series will reprise their roles, Paul Anderson will not be returning as Arthur Shelby.

During interviews to promote his new film, Keoghan said he’s a dedicated gamer and still loves playing The Simpsons: Hit & Run, which is a well-regarded game. However, viewers noticed something in the interview that suggests he might not be telling the truth about his gaming hobby.

During an interview on Kiss FM, actor Barry Keoghan shared his love for video games. He mentioned playing The Simpsons: Hit & Run on his PSP and being a big fan of Pokémon FireRed, confirming he’s a dedicated gamer.

Keoghan’s comment is sweet, but it’s highly unlikely he’s actually playing The Simpsons: Hit & Run on a PSP. He might still be playing it on older systems like the PS2 or PS Vita and just got confused, but people online aren’t buying it.

People on X quickly criticized Keoghan after he claimed a certain game was available on the PSP. One user joked that the game never actually came out for that console, calling him out as a “fraud,” while another bluntly accused him of being misinformed.

Similar to how players repeatedly defeated Ned Flanders in the game, criticisms continued to surface. One person pointed out he referenced games that were over 20 years old, and another noted he mentioned a game that doesn’t actually exist.
