Police shock DoorDash customer by finishing delivery after arresting driver

New Jersey police surprised a woman when they personally delivered her DoorDash order. They had just arrested the delivery driver who was supposed to bring it.

Okay, let’s be real, we’ve all been there, right? Ordering food and then obsessively tracking that little icon on the map. You need to see where your food is, just to make sure it actually gets to you while it’s still hot. It’s a total anxiety thing, but you gotta do it!

A customer in Washington Township, New Jersey, experienced a delivery problem when the DoorDash driver bringing her food was arrested by police, causing a significant delay.

I saw this crazy post from the Washington Township Police Department on Instagram! Apparently, when they were arresting someone, the driver told them he was literally on his way to deliver a DoorDash order just around the corner. Can you believe that timing?

Rather than let the customer’s meal get cold or have to cancel the order, the officers personally delivered it to their house.

The customer said she was really frightened when the police gave her the food. An officer explained they had arrested the delivery driver, but they still managed to complete the delivery, and then they left.

Police say the driver was wanted on outstanding warrants and was stopped near a high school.

According to Washington Township Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik, the driver told officers he was currently delivering two DoorDash orders when he was stopped – a first for the department, according to ABC7 News.

“And to the resident who answered the door, we are sorry for the surprise and for startling you! We hope lunch was still hot,” the department added on Instagram.

Although this is new for our department, police officers across the country have been delivering food to people after making arrests for some time. It even became a popular trend on TikTok.
