Tom Felton had a very busy 2025, launching multiple movies and reprising his role as Draco Malfoy on stage. Now, one of those films is gaining popularity on a streaming service.
The comedy series Fackham Hall, which playfully combines elements of Downton Abbey, Airplane!, and Monty Python, is quickly becoming popular on streaming services. The R-rated show gained attention almost immediately, reaching the number one spot on HBO Max in the U.S. on February 8th.
A new comedy film has become the most popular title, surpassing the previous chart-topper after nearly a week. It’s also gaining traction in the UK, where it’s now ranked third in the Apple TV store.
Fackham Hall Is the Perfect Downton Abbey Replacement
The popular historical drama Downton Abbey first aired in 2010 and ran for six seasons, followed by three movies. The most recent film, Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, was released in theaters in September.
This hilarious, adult comedy revolves around a case of mistaken identity, a secret romance, and a surprisingly troublesome dead body. All of this turns a stately English manor house upside down in a chaotic mix of social satire, love, and playful trouble.
Eric finds work at a beautiful, old manor, and quickly becomes a valued employee. He also falls in love with Rose Davenport, the woman of the house, but their romance is kept secret. When someone is murdered, Eric is wrongly accused, putting Rose and her family in danger.
The movie Fackham Hall first appeared in U.S. cinemas on December 5th and is now available to stream on HBO Max. It’s based on an original story by Jimmy and Patrick Carr, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Steve Dawson, Andrew Dawson, and Tim Inman.
Tom Felton is well-known for his work in period films, having appeared in several movies set in the past. In 2013, he starred in the 18th-century drama Belle and also had a role in the 1860s thriller In Secret.
Felton appeared in the 2016 film Risen, an action mystery with religious themes, playing the character Lucius Tyco Ennius. In 2018, he starred in a new version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet called Ophelia, alongside Daisy Ridley, known for her role in Star Wars.

Viewers generally agreed with the show’s rating, giving it a score of around 76%. Many enjoyed it as a funny parody of Downton Abbey, and others simply found it hilarious.
In addition to Felton, the cast of Fackham Hall is full of talented actors, including Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Radcliffe, Emma Laird, Tom Goodman-Hill, Ramon Tikaram, Tim McMullan, Anna Maxwell Martin, Sue Johnston, and Damian Lewis.
