Fans have now seen the best glimpse of the Absolute Scarecrow, and he appears to be the most frightening enemy seen so far.
A new image shared by the film news account Discussing Film reveals a detailed look at the character Absolute Scarecrow. The photo shows a particularly frightening close-up of Scarecrow’s face, highlighting his button eyes and the stitches used to create his terrifying appearance. You can view the image below.
The cover art for Absolute Batman #19, which is scheduled to be released in June, was revealed online back in January. The main cover features a unique take on Scarecrow, depicted as wearing a normal suit to hide his frightening true form – you can see his reflection in Batman’s blades.
DC’s Absolute Batman #19 reveals that Poison Ivy was only one threat hidden within the ARK M facility. Now, the Joker is targeting Batman and plans to use Dr. Jonathan Crane, one of the facility’s most frightening doctors, to help him. At a recent ComicsPRO event, DC Comics’ Executive Editor Chris Conroy discussed their ‘Absolute Universe’ line. He explained that they’re focused on keeping the line manageable and accessible for new readers. Later this year, in the fourth quarter, they will launch the first official event centered around the Absolute Universe, and they plan to approach it in a unique way, fitting with the ‘Absolute’ brand.
If you’re hesitant about diving into the Absolute Universe, don’t be! According to Conroy, it will be easy to follow and won’t change the existing storylines. The Absolute Universe event will expand the universe similarly to how Absolute Evil did, ultimately leading to fantastic books like Absolute Green Arrow, even starting with just a single issue.
