Persona 5: The Phantom X version 3.3 adds Firecracker Yaoling “Rin” Li with Lunar New Year event

Sega and Atlus have released update 3.3 for Persona 5: The Phantom X on both Japanese and English servers. The update includes a Lunar New Year event and introduces a new playable character, Yaoling “Rin” Li, in a special “Firecracker” version, available through a limited-time gacha banner.

Firecracker Yaoling is now available on the Japanese and global versions of the game, following a change to the update plan. Atlus and Sega first released update 3.2, which included Tempest Riko “Wind” Tanemura and the conclusion of Chapter 3 in the main story. They followed this with a Valentine’s Day event that introduced Mio “Matoi” Natsukawa. Players in East Asia received Firecracker Yaoling earlier, as the update schedule was originally timed to coincide with Lunar New Year celebrations in that region.

The recording of the livestream announcing version 3.3, along with the full patch notes, can be found below. Players in Southeast Asia will likely receive this update about a week after its initial release. Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available globally on PC, iOS, and Android devices.

Celebrate Lunar New Year with special bonuses! Log in before 1:59 AM UTC on April 2, 2026, to receive a Lunar Firecrackers frame. Logging in for seven days will earn you 10 Platinum Tickets. If you log in for 14 days, you’ll also get a Lunar Lanterns profile design and even more fantastic rewards!

We’ve added several new ways to unlock the 5-star Phantom Thief Yumi Shiina and her special weapon! You can now obtain them through the Phantom Idol Draft X event, by collecting Thief’s Cognitite Shards, a special 5-star Cognitite Case, or by exchanging Salamander Coins. You can find Salamander Coins and trade them for 5-star weapons at the Airsoft Shop in Shibuya.

We’ve made changes to how certain weapons work. If a Phantom Thief returns with a new name (like Firecracker Yaoling), they can only use weapons specifically designed for that new version of themselves, even if they shared a name before. Check the item description to see which Phantom Thief each weapon is for. This change only applies to weapons we release from now on; older weapons will still work with different versions of Phantom Thieves.

We’ve added some new items to the Joy Medal Exchange! You can now trade for the exclusive weapon, Purgatory, and the Purgatory Shards needed to create it.

We’ve added Skill Cards to the Repression Medal II and III exchanges! These cards are used to teach your Personas new skills through Persona Training. Keep in mind that each card has specific requirements for a Persona to learn the skill, so be sure to check the card’s description for details.

Get a limited-edition Chinese Lion Dance capsule toy in Kichijoji! These special toys are available until April 30, 2026, at 1:59 AM UTC. Find them while you’re celebrating the Lunar New Year!

Exciting new plushies are available now in crane games for a limited time! You can get them until 1:59 AM UTC on April 16, 2026. The featured plushies include Black Frost and Mini Jack-o’-Lantern. You can also find them at the Prize Counter under the Crane Game menu. Please note that Mini Jack Frost and Pixie plushies will only be available until maintenance begins on March 4.
