I’m so excited! Cygnus Cross just dropped a new video for their game, Emberville. It’s a cool mix of a brand new trailer and some behind-the-scenes stuff with the voice actors. As a fan, I can’t wait to finally play it – they’re planning to release Emberville as an Early Access game on Steam this summer!
The game’s trailer shows off its exciting combat system, which blends action and role-playing, as well as the ability to build and manage towns. A new behind-the-scenes video features voice actors Alex Jordan, Doug Cockle, and Abubakar Salim, who many will recognize as the voice of Bayek from Assassin’s Creed: Origins.
You can find the latest trailer and cast information below, as reported by Cygnus Cross. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can also view the announcement trailer and screenshots from last month.
Emberville | Convergence Showcase Trailer + NEW Cast Reveal
Just under a month ago, Cygnus Cross surprised gamers with the reveal of Emberville, a game they’d been secretly working on for three years. Today, during their livestream event, they unveiled another exciting addition: a new voice actor joins the cast, and a previously announced popular character will have a larger role.
Alex Jordan, known for his work on games like The Alters, Cyberpunk 2077, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, is now part of the core cast, and will be both voicing a character and directing the game’s performance capture. Cygnus Cross says this adds to the incredibly talented team working on Emberville, both in front of and behind the camera.
Jordan emphasized that the most important part of any project is the development team. He explained that even the best idea won’t succeed without a dedicated team that pays close attention to detail. He was particularly impressed with Emberville, noting they not only had a great concept but also a remarkable commitment to quality and creating a lasting experience for players. He was very enthusiastic about the project. He also jokingly admitted to telling a small lie to Doug – promising him sausages – to help finalize the deal, asking that it be kept a secret.
Voice actor Doug Cockle, known for his work in games like The Witcher and The Alters, shared similar excitement about joining the project. He praised the team’s dedication and talent, saying, “The level of passion, skill, and experience going into this game is incredible.” Cockle is drawn to projects with a clear vision and the expertise to achieve it, especially when they’re ambitious. He also jokingly added that the promise of ‘small sausages’ was a definite perk.
Today’s showcase also announced that Abubakar Salim, famous for voicing Bayek in Assassin’s Creed: Origins and playing Alyn of Hull in House of the Dragon, is joining the cast of Emberville.
Salim explained that he seeks out ambitious and innovative projects, and he believes Emberville is a prime example of that. He was particularly impressed by the team’s creative approach to their genre, calling it both inspiring and brilliantly executed.
Emberville is looking like a standout game this year, focusing heavily on its unique characters. The game’s cast is expanding and development is progressing well. We’ll be sharing more details – including why the characters seem so obsessed with sausage – in the coming months.
