- There’s a new boss and campaign, new mystic skills, martial arts paths and story to dig into!
As spring approaches and everything feels fresh and new, we’re excited to announce the launch of the Hexi expansion for NetEase’s popular martial arts game, Where Winds Meet! This update brings new content and features to the game.
Where Winds Meet puts you in the shoes of a talented martial artist in 10th-century China. While the game initially focused on the central regions of China, the new Hexi expansion opens up a vast, sandy desert area to explore, taking you far beyond the original borders.
The new expansion will be released in three parts, starting today with the ‘Jade Gate Pass’ chapter. This update lets you explore new regions in northwestern China, near the historic Hexi Corridor – a key section of the ancient Silk Road. It looks like this historical setting will be central to the new content.

Of course, because this is Where Winds Meet, you’ll also want to keep an eye out for new martial arts paths adding exciting moves and abilities, as well as mystic skills such as Tai Chi to add to your repertoire. Not to mention a new campaign to the Whitecrown Fortress and world boss in the form of the Wandering Ark.
Plus, you can collect new cosmetic items inspired by the Hexi region, including the Whirl of Radiance outfit and the Flowing Light nameplate. We’ve also added a new story chapter and plenty of events to enjoy – you can find all the details in the complete update notes. Just be aware there’s a lot to explore, so check out our guide to the new weapons to help you get started!
