In 2026, three new planes decorated with designs from the original Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue video games will be launched.
Throughout the year, special plane designs will be unveiled to celebrate two milestones: the 30th anniversary of the original Pokémon Red and Green games, which debuted on February 27, 1996, and the 40th anniversary of ANA’s first international flight.
This collaboration is an extension of a relationship that began in 1998, marked by the launch of the very first Pokémon-themed airplane.
Pokemon aircrafts revealed
All Nippon Airways (ANA) will be adding three new planes with special Pokémon designs. The Pokémon Jet Red, a Boeing 787-8, will fly within Japan. The Pokémon Jet Green, a larger Boeing 787-9, will be used for international flights. And the Pokémon Jet Blue, a Boeing 737-800, will operate on domestic routes within Japan.
According to Keiji Omae, ANA’s Executive Vice President of Customer Experience, this project is more than just a cosmetic change; it’s about building a captivating experience for passengers, encouraging them to explore and enjoy the journey.
Whether you’ve been playing games for decades on a Game Boy or are discovering new worlds on your phone, we at ANA invite you to experience your next adventure in the real world with us. Many of today’s passengers remember being amazed by our first Pokémon Jet in 1998, and we’re proud to not only transport people, but also the memories they hold and the adventures yet to come.
ANA plans for its three new aircraft designs to work together and reflect the spirit of its original Red, Green, and Blue planes. More details, including images and launch dates, will be revealed in May.
These new planes will be added to ANA’s existing fleet of Pokemon-themed aircraft, including the Pikachu Jet NH and Eevee Jet NH, as part of the Pokemon Air Adventures program.
Besides the planes getting a Pokemon makeover, they’re planning some really cool events and stuff to make you feel like you’re actually in the Pokemon universe. It’s going to be a total immersion experience for passengers, which I’m super excited about!
