Snoop Dogg shows up at Swansea City match and steals the show with record attendance

Seeing a world-famous star at a Championship football game is rare, and lots of Swansea City fans came to the Liberty Stadium to watch Snoop Dogg’s first ever appearance there.

Swansea City, recently acquired by American investors and already supported by football star Luka Modric, hired Snoop Dogg last July to increase the club’s visibility.

Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen didn’t seek financial investment from the famous rapper. Instead, they hoped his popularity and social media reach would draw attention to their club, and it seems that strategy has been successful.

Swansea saw an incredible turnout as record numbers of fans welcomed co-owner Snoop Dogg to the stadium for the first time.

Bumper crowd turns out to see Snoop Dogg at Swansea City game

Snoop Dogg surprised fans by showing up in South West Wales on a chilly February evening to watch a Swansea City soccer match against Preston North End. The game wouldn’t usually draw a large crowd, but it completely sold out thanks to his appearance.

A record-breaking 20,233 fans packed the Liberty Stadium to welcome Snoop Dogg to Swansea, marking his first appearance since becoming a part-owner of the club.

Snoop Dogg delivered a fantastic performance. Dressed in all white, complete with a Swansea City jersey, he made a grand entrance through a cloud of smoke. He connected with young fans, playfully kicked a soccer ball around on the field, and energized the crowd with a classic towel-twirling routine—using branded towels that were given out before the game.

After that, he went up to the stands and watched most of the game, including a goal scored by Preston in the 26th minute. This seemed to ruin the fun for Snoop and the Swansea fans, and he left before the game ended.

However, initial suggestions that he’d had enough of the match are far from true.

Snoop Dogg didn’t want the party to end

It seems Snoop Dogg simply wanted a relaxed and private space to finish watching the game. He enjoyed snacks, drinks, and a smoke while cheering on his new team, Swansea, and was thrilled to see Liam Cullen score a game-tying goal at the last minute.

I was watching the game on TV and totally lost it when there was a last-second score! I even heard Snoop Dogg cheering – he was clapping and saying, “Good job, way to go buddy!” It was awesome.

This follows Snoop Dogg’s previous visit to the club’s practice facilities and a private performance he gave in Llansamlet, a neighborhood in Swansea.

In a January interview with Wales Online, Snoop Dogg shared that he’d long hoped to invest in a soccer team, and he was simply waiting for the perfect chance when he decided to look at Swansea City.

I really want to connect with the fans. They’re a major reason I decided to invest in the team. They’re incredibly passionate and genuine, and I’m looking forward to hearing their thoughts when I visit Swansea.

It seems Snoop really enjoyed his time there, so we can probably expect him to visit Wales again soon.
