Just days after showcasing upcoming games at the 2026 State of Play, PlayStation announced it’s closing one of its well-known studios. While PlayStation has generally avoided large-scale layoffs like those seen at Xbox, 2024 brought both job cuts and the closure of Firewalk Studios, a studio under the Concord brand.
PlayStation is closing Bluepoint Games, according to a report by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. Bluepoint Games is known for beautifully recreating older titles, like their remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls. PlayStation says the decision, made after a recent evaluation of its businesses, will result in the studio’s closure in March.
