The game is getting a special crossover set that will introduce exciting new gameplay features and also revive some older, previously unused mechanics.
Sneak Is A New Version Of MTG’s Ninjutsu Mechanic
Sneak is a new ability inspired by older Ninjutsu effects. When defending, a player can pay a ‘Sneak’ cost to replace an attacking creature they control with a different one from their hand. This happens as blockers are being assigned.
Unlike Ninjutsu, the Sneak ability can be used on Instants and Sorceries, letting players replace their creatures with spells during combat. Because it represents creatures moving behind enemy lines to attack, Sneak would be a perfect addition to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Magic: The Gathering set. It enhances the theme and provides a practical strategy that many players will find valuable in their decks.
Mutagen Tokens Let MTG Creatures Power Up
Mutagen is a glowing green substance that turns ordinary animals into beings with human-like intelligence. In the card game Magic: The Gathering, Mutagen is represented by a token that players can create in a number of ways.
For just one mana, you can discard a Mutagen to make any creature on the battlefield stronger, giving it +1/+1. Because this ability works like a sorcery, you can only use it during your main phase when it’s your turn.
Alliance Kicks In When New MTG Creatures Enter The Field
The ability ‘Alliance’ triggers whenever another one of your creatures enters the battlefield, often causing an effect like dealing damage to an opponent. The other creature doesn’t need to have the Alliance ability itself. Importantly, Alliance can work together with the ‘Sneak’ ability.
Disappear Is MTG’s New Version Of Revolt
Okay, so ‘Disappear’ goes off whenever one of my permanents leaves the battlefield during the current turn. Honestly, it’s a bit of a shock to see it actually trigger because it’s always been kind of unreliable – hard to keep track of when it would actually happen, you know?
Character Classes Are Returning To Magic In The TMNT Crossover
Classes are special cards that you can improve by using mana, unlocking new abilities as they level up. They were inspired by the character classes from the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. The upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration will introduce five new Class cards, such as the ‘Ninja Teen’ card.
