It’s likely brought science fiction to a wider audience than any other recent show, and just as it once took a decade to get things done, you can now achieve results in under two days.

You Need About 45 Hours To Watch All Of Stranger Things

Watching all of Stranger Things would take a full 45 hours – that’s non-stop! Even with time off work and canceling everything, it’s realistically impossible to watch straight through. Please don’t try!

The series has 42 episodes that range from 40 to 60 minutes each, though some are over two hours long. If you plan to binge-watch, a good pace would be two episodes per night and 6 to 8 episodes on the weekends. At this rate, finishing the whole series should take around 17 to 19 days.

Binging Stranger Things From Start To Finish Is A Different Experience

Watching all of Stranger Things at once is different than seeing it week by week when it first came out. When the show started in 2016, the young actors were mostly between 11 and 14 years old, and the teenage characters were played by actors in their early twenties.

As a huge fan, I noticed something a bit strange by season five. The actors who started as kids were now in their twenties, but the characters they were playing were supposed to still be in their early twenties – and were being portrayed by actors in their thirties! It was definitely noticeable, even after all these years. Honestly, if I binge-watched the show relatively quickly, like over a few weeks, I found myself getting confused about who was who – it’s hard to keep track when the actors age so much faster than their characters!

Will Stranger Things Age Well?

Even though the actors have grown up a lot since the show began, Stranger Things is still a great series to watch all at once. However, it might not hold up as well over time compared to other shows, likely because it relies so heavily on special effects.

Beyond just being a throwback to the 80s, Stranger Things really reflects the way we view that decade now. It’s less about what the 80s were actually like, and more about how the 2010s and 2020s remember them. This layer of commentary, comparing different generations, might not be as clear to viewers in the future.
