A remarkably rare Boeing 747 is now for sale and is gaining a lot of attention online due to its incredibly luxurious interior.
Having a personal airplane is often seen as a sign of success, though the impact of that status can depend on the aircraft itself. Many pilots who enjoy flying as a hobby own smaller planes, such as a Cessna 172, which lets them travel comfortably and peacefully.
Many celebrities own private jets, like the Bombardier Global Express, to travel quickly between events. However, only a small number have taken it a step further and customized larger passenger planes to transport themselves and their crews.
Large airplanes, like the Boeing 777, are usually reserved for groups like government officials or sports teams. But if you have enough money, you can actually purchase a unique 747 for yourself.
Las Vegas Sands-owned 747SP up for sale
I just saw that a Boeing 747SP – they call it the Special Performance model – is for sale! Apparently, it used to belong to the Las Vegas Sands luxury resort and flew them around for almost two decades, from 2007 to 2024. It’s pretty amazing to think this plane first flew way back in 1980!
This plane is a rare model – one of only 45 Boeing 747SPs ever built, and now only two are still flying. What makes this one special is that it’s been renovated with a lavish interior and can comfortably seat up to 60 people.
Controller.Com is selling the plane, but hasn’t listed a price. Interested buyers need to contact the seller directly to inquire about it.
This isn’t the only 747SP currently listed for sale. Another one, a 1995 model previously owned by the Qatari Royal Family, is also available for $15 million.
A 747SP jet that once belonged to Sands Resorts is gaining a lot of attention online. Videos of it for sale are circulating on YouTube, and many viewers are surprised to see it’s available.
The vehicle, formerly owned by the Qatari Royal Family, has been on the market for three years, but no one has yet purchased it.
