Happinet has released a free digital demo of *Starbites* for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. You can download it now from the Japanese PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop.
This demo lets you play the beginning of the RPG’s story and try out some side quests. If you play the demo, you can continue your progress in the full game when it launches in Japan on October 16th. Just keep in mind that characters in the demo are limited to level 15.
Interestingly, the Japanese Nintendo eShop hints that the Switch version of the game will work on the upcoming Switch 2 console. Both the original Switch and Switch 2 versions of the Japanese release also share the same file size of 5.2GB. NIS America’s announcement for the game specifically mentions Switch 2, so it’s unclear if there will be a separate version made just for the new console. However, while the North American version will include English and French language options, the Japanese release of the game will only support Japanese and Korean.
