Raja Jackson, a streamer and the son of former UFC fighter Rampage Jackson, was arrested after assaulting a professional wrestler at a live event. The wrestler was injured and required hospitalization.
TMZ reports that Jackson was arrested on September 18th, nearly a month after the incident. Raja is currently in jail and being held on a $50,000 bond, facing a felony charge.
On August 23rd, Jackson unexpectedly entered the ring during a live stream on Kick at KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy and attacked wrestler Syko Stu (Stewart Smith) with multiple punches.
The conflict started because Stu had previously thought Jackson’s arrival was a planned part of the performance. Even though they appeared to make up, event organizers allegedly tried to use the incident as a plot device for the show. However, when Jackson came to the ring, he genuinely started fighting.
Wrestler Douglas Malo reported that Stu sustained severe facial injuries, with several bones and teeth broken.
Police received a report of an attempted murder at 9 p.m., but the suspect, Jackson, had already left the scene before they arrived.
Before the fight, Jackson told the audience he had always wanted to defeat a professional wrestler and stated he intended to physically attack his opponent.
KnokX Pro strongly denounced the attack, calling it a “selfish and irresponsible act of violence.” The academy, which was once connected to WWE’s training program, has since become separate from the company.
A fundraising campaign for Stu has brought in thousands of dollars, with a generous $10,000 contribution from popular YouTuber, MrBeast.
Stu woke up days after the attack, but his face was still severely injured.
Rampage Jackson said he hopes to meet Stu one day and asked for his forgiveness. He also acknowledged that his son had overstepped the line.
