The final episode of Stranger Things resolved many storylines, though some characters’ fates were left uncertain. Now, the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, are explaining everything.
The final season of Stranger Things saw some characters find happiness, while others faced heartbreaking losses. One character’s future, however, remains uncertain.
Fans were disappointed because the fate of the villain, Dr. Kay, and her army was never revealed.
Okay, so the finale tried to wrap up everything with all the characters, and honestly, some of the smaller ones felt a little shortchanged – they didn’t really get their moment to shine. But the Duffer brothers are coming through now and giving us those missing pieces, which is awesome!
Erica will be Hawkins High valedictorian

I totally fell in love with Erica in Stranger Things! She was so funny and smart, always speaking her mind and delivering these awesome one-liners. It was great to see her at the very end, but honestly, I was left wanting more – I really wish we’d gotten to see what happened with her after that!
The Duffer brothers aren’t worried about Erica at all. Ross Duffer assured Netflix that she’s incredibly capable and can handle anything, even the challenges of high school. He described her as very resilient and tough.
Matt Duffer is confident she’ll excel, predicting she’s a shoo-in to be valedictorian. He believes she has limitless potential and can pursue any path she chooses after that.
Regarding the older characters, Matt Duffer mentioned he enjoys the connection between Murray and Mr. Clarke. However, he believes Murray is still pursuing his own unusual interests, while Mr. Clarke is probably continuing to teach, as he genuinely cares about educating children.
Max and Lucas will finally go on that date

Throughout its five seasons, Stranger Things hinted at several key moments, and the finale delivered a long-awaited scene with Hopper and Joyce at Enzo’s. Despite Robin promising she and Vickie would join them, the two weren’t seen at the restaurant.
Max and Lucas were originally planned to have a scene at the movies, but it didn’t make it into the final episode. The show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, explain they filmed it, but ultimately had to cut it for time.
As a fan, it was really sweet to finally see Eleven and Will actually go on that movie date! The Duffer Brothers had mentioned they’d been planning it for ages, so it felt like a big moment when it finally happened.
Matt Duffer: And they’re watching Ghost.
Ross Duffer: We don’t show it.
Okay, so the Duffer Brothers told me they actually did film a scene inspired by the pottery wheel scene from ‘Ghost’! Apparently, they thought it would be a sweet nod to the movie the characters were watching, but it ended up distracting from the actual emotional moment they were trying to build between the characters. They decided it just didn’t quite fit, which is totally understandable!
However, that doesn’t quite work with the show’s timeline. Season 5 of Stranger Things takes place in 1987, but the movie Ghost came out in the summer of 1990. That would mean the couple waited a full three years to finally go to the movies.
