Dispatch was a big hit after launching in October 2025, but it was released too late to be considered for The Game Awards this year. It will be eligible next year, although the development team has some concerns they’re working through.
I absolutely loved Dispatch! It really grabbed me with its amazing cast and a story that just kept unfolding week after week. It was a huge hit, and honestly, everyone I know is already begging for a second season. We all just want to see what happens to the characters we’ve grown to care about, and how our choices impacted the ending. Please, bring on season two!
Even if it does happen, the game is still years off, and the developers at AdHoc Studios are concerned people will lose interest. This is despite the game being eligible for The Game Awards in 2026.
Dispatch will qualify for The Game Awards 2026
Nick Herman, co-founder and COO of AdHoc, told Eurogamer they’ve been informed by Geoff Keighley that their game is eligible for consideration at next year’s The Game Awards. However, Herman expressed concern about whether the game will actually generate enough interest to be noticed.
When nominations for the 2026 Game Awards are announced, nearly a year will have passed since the release of Dispatch. With so many highly anticipated games coming out in 2026 – including titles like GTA 6 and a wealth of new indie games – there’s a real chance Dispatch could be overlooked.

Herman shared that Dispatch wouldn’t be possible without the support of The Game Awards. They didn’t have a publisher when they first showed the trailer there in 2024, and Geoff Keighley helped them out by giving them a platform. Herman expressed deep gratitude for the show and its significant impact on their project.
Dispatch surprisingly received a nomination for Best Debut Indie at the 2025 Game Awards, despite only half of the game being available at the time. As Herman explained, voters were submitting their choices before the full game was released. He found it remarkable that people nominated the game even though they had only experienced half of it, calling it “pretty nuts” to consider.
Considering how well the game performed even with only half of its content available, many people are expected to still enjoy it in 2026. The developer, Herman, even playfully suggested they’ll release the more mature scenes right before The Game Awards to generate renewed interest and remind everyone the full game, Dispatch, is out.
