Everyone’s talking about it being the action game to watch in 2026, and as a PS5 player, I’m definitely keeping a close eye on it. Though, honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up on other platforms too!
I was so excited to finally see a release date for Phantom Blade Zero at The Game Awards 2025! It’s coming out in what’s already shaping up to be an amazing year for games, and everyone’s already talking about it. From what the developers have shown, it’ll be available on PS5 and PC at launch, though they’ve left the door open for a possible Xbox version later on.
Phantom Blade Zero Could Release On Xbox
It’s surprising how often fans notice small details in game trailers or announcements long after they’ve been released. Even though The Game Awards 2025 has passed, people are just now discovering new information that was hidden in plain sight in the Phantom Blade Zero release date trailer.
The four-minute trailer concludes with a blue screen revealing the game is exclusively available on the PlayStation 5.
We already knew this, but like with any contract, it’s important to read the details closely – there are often hidden aspects you need to be aware of.
The game is currently available on PC. It won’t be released on other gaming consoles for at least another year.
This basically means Phantom Blade Zero will be available on PlayStation 5 first, for a limited time. Similar to games like Silent Hill 2 and the Final Fantasy Remake series, it’s expected to eventually be released on Xbox as well.
It looks like the days of fierce competition between PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo are fading. Sony and Microsoft now seem focused on making as much money as possible, which will likely mean most games will be available on both consoles. However, don’t expect to see Nintendo’s popular franchises, like Mario, on PlayStation 5 anytime soon.
