Nothing on TV in 2025 challenged and entertained me quite like Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin’s The Chair Company, and that’s a very good thing. What I mean is, it’s refreshing that in a landscape of repetitive shows, this one successfully combined the suspense of a conspiracy thriller with hilarious timing and genuine family moments, all in just half an hour. Unfortunately, the first season is finished, and we’ll have to wait for Season 2.
I don’t want to become as obsessed with ‘Tecca’ as Ron did, so while I was busy thinking about unanswered questions from the show and what scenes Ron might have been remembering, I started imagining Tim Robinson’s unique comedic style in other shows I enjoy. I’m hoping that if I brainstorm enough, maybe one of those ideas will actually become a reality!

Tim Robinson In Severance
For twisty, top-level conspiracies, the Apple TV+ series Severance is a perfect fit—and it’s full of office chairs! Almost everyone in the show has some kind of unusual personality. Imagine if Tim Robinson, known for his chaotic energy, played a stressed-out boss above Milchick, constantly blurting out secrets. Or, alternatively, if he played Ricken Hale’s more erratic sibling, or a truly troubled member of the Eagan family.

Tim Robinson In IT: Welcome To Derry
The first season of ‘Welcome to Derry’ includes a monster that thrives on fear and a soldier who has lost the ability to feel it. What if actor Bill Robinson played one of the kids in a future season, and his character was simply too naive to grasp the concept of fear? He wouldn’t realize Pennywise or its other forms are scary. Maybe, for a funny twist, he could even be a dentist trying to examine Pennywise’s teeth!

Tim Robinson In Abbott Elementary
Given how unique The Chair Company is in blending different genres, it might seem odd for Robinson to star in a more traditional comedy. However, while he’s played many bizarre characters on shows like I Think You Should Leave, he’s never played a teacher who becomes increasingly paranoid and obsessive about being constantly recorded. Even a naturally kind person like Jacob wouldn’t be able to handle that situation.

Tim Robinson In The Pitt
Hospital shows are a staple of television, and it’s easy to imagine a Tim Robinson character creating chaos in a hospital setting. Whether he’s a patient, doctor, nurse, or even just someone refilling the vending machines, he’d be the final, frustrating thing that pushes an already exhausted doctor over the edge.

Tim Robinson In The Boys
It would be amazing to see Robert ‘Robbie’ Robinson, fully suited up, confidently facing off against Homelander and declaring, “Yes, I do have a power, and it’s a significant one!” Perhaps his power is simply being unable to keep his opinions to himself around other superheroes, and he constantly points out everyone else’s flaws – particularly The Deep – but always with a cheerful attitude.

Tim Robinson In The Simpsons
Forget any idea of a cartoon Tim Robinson – we’re only dealing with the real, flesh-and-blood version here. (And for some reason, everything feels really damp.) If I’m being realistic, he’d probably appear during the opening credits, almost colliding with the other characters as they do their usual thing. Watch out for that glowing, radioactive rod, Tim!

Tim Robinson In Dexter: Resurrection
Okay, hear me out – this is a wild thought. I love Tim Robinson, and it’s probably too chaotic, too MAD Magazineesque, to suggest he play a character with that ‘Dark Passenger’ thing from Dexter. But imagine if, in Season 2, Dexter starts hunting one of those unseen killers, and it turns out to be a Tim Robinson type – someone whose behavior is just completely baffling to Michael C. Hall’s Dexter. It would be unbelievably funny! And then, the ultimate twist? This Robinson character kills* Dexter and just takes over the show! Clyde Phillips, if you’re listening, seriously consider this – it would be amazing!

Tim Robinson On Jeoaprdy!
I realize the stories from contestants on Jeopardy! are shortened for the show, but I can easily imagine a scenario where a rambling character, like Tim Robinson, tells a never-ending story that fills the entire first round, spills over into Wheel of Fortune or even the local news – almost like a bizarre, late-night commercial that Ken Jennings accidentally kept going. It would be impossible to tell who actually won that game.
Honestly, I don’t think any of the things I wished for will actually happen, even though I explained them perfectly to the genie – who, by the way, looks a lot like Tim Robinson – that came out of my new lamp. And just to be clear, I’m not letting anyone borrow it!
