Matthias Schoenaerts sentenced for driving offenses
According to Deadline, reporting information from Belgian news agency Belga, actor Matthias Schoenaerts has received a six-month sentence for twice driving a motorbike without a license this year. This occurred while he was still under a driving ban from a prior offense.
The actor was sentenced in court even though he didn’t appear. Reports indicate he was supposed to retake driving exams but didn’t pass them. In addition to the sentence, he received a €4,000 fine and another year-long driving ban.
According to court spokesperson Luc De Cleir, Schoenaerts probably won’t go to prison, and he has the option to challenge the decision.
Schoenaerts could face further legal trouble. According to Belga news, he was pulled over by Belgian police last month and didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
