The upcoming DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, called Mega Dimension, is adding even more Mega Evolutions to the game. Mega Evolutions, which were very popular in the Pokémon games from Generation 6, have already made a return, and fans are excited about this addition. However, these new Mega Evolutions could create an unexpected issue that many players didn’t anticipate.
Legends: Z-A brought back many Mega Evolutions from older games and introduced a ton of new ones, like Mega Victreebel and Mega Hawlucha, which were first shown in popular online videos. Before the game even came out, Mega Evolutions for the original Gen 6 starter Pokémon were revealed, but how players would get them caused some debate. Now, with the Mega Dimension DLC, even more Mega Evolutions have been added to the game.
Pokémon Keeps On Revealing More Mega Evolutions
With the release of Mega Dimension just around the corner, we’re starting to see some new Pokémon forms revealed, including a Mega Evolution for the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora. It looks like even more new Mega Evolutions are on the way, which sounds exciting! But could there be too many? It’s definitely a possibility.
It seems great to imagine almost every Pokémon having a Mega Evolution, especially its strongest forms. However, the competitive scene in Legends: Z-A is already quite fragile. Introducing a lot of new Mega Evolutions could drastically change battles, potentially driving players away – either because they’re frustrated or simply lose interest.
Too Much Of A Good Thing Could Hurt Mega Dimension DLC
As the villain Syndrome famously said in The Incredibles, “When everyone’s super, no one will be.” This idea applies to Pokémon’s Mega Evolution feature. It was exciting because only some Pokémon could Mega Evolve. With Legends: Z-A, many more Pokémon gained this ability, and the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC will expand that even further. If every Pokémon could Mega Evolve, it would lose its special appeal and simply become a standard part of the game.
Mega Evolution risks becoming stale if it’s not handled carefully. Players tend to lose interest in games when they become repetitive, and having too many Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving could diminish its appeal. Hopefully, the new DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A will keep this exciting feature feeling special and prevent it from becoming commonplace.
