A TikTok video featuring The Wiggles is causing concern among parents and child safety professionals. The video was edited to make it look like the group was dancing to a song about the drug ecstasy.
A video posted by musician Keli Holiday (who also performs as Adam Hyde of Peking Duk) was taken down on November 28th after gaining over 92,000 views. The video showed Holiday dancing in a towel alongside footage of Anthony Field, the Blue Wiggle, doing the group’s famous finger wiggle.
The video featured a song called “Ecstasy” by Holiday, which contains the line, “You and your pocket full of ecstasy.” According to a report in The West Australian, the group claims the video was altered and posted online without their permission.

There are several videos online showing Holiday performing ‘Dancing2’ at the TikTok Awards, including one of the Blue Wiggle playing the bagpipes on stage. However, these videos are different from the edited dance videos that are currently being discussed.
The Wiggles respond to controversial TikTok
A Wiggles representative stated that the group does not support or approve of drug use, and confirmed the video in question was not made with their involvement.
The group stated that the content being shared wasn’t made or endorsed by them and they’ve requested it be taken down. They also confirmed that their original performance at the TikTok Awards was suitable for all ages.
Child psychologists were alarmed by the popular video edit. Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg described it as “disturbing” and cautioned that linking well-loved cartoon characters to drug references could be confusing and harmful to children.
Psychologist Clare Rowe expressed similar worries, explaining that the video could damage parents’ trust in the brand, which has always been known for its family-friendly content.
Holiday hasn’t spoken publicly about the video. This situation arises as Australia gets ready to introduce new rules about how children under 16 use social media.
