Okay, so I’ve started this new show, and the first episode, ‘We is Us,’ is wild! It kicks off with this astronomer making a discovery that totally flips everything on its head. We’re introduced to Carol, who’s a pretty grumpy writer, and she’s not happy about this new reality. Episode two, ‘Pirate Lady,’ throws another curveball – this person shows up who Carol strangely recognizes, and it starts to make this bizarre new world feel a little more…normal? There’s this get-together in Europe, and things get tense with all these strangers. Then, episode three, ‘Grenade,’ is just…intense. Everyone’s trying to help Carol, which just makes her even more annoyed, and a seemingly normal conversation ends with a huge shock. Seriously, this show is a rollercoaster!

Okay, so I just watched episodes 4 and 5, and they were wild! Episode 4, called ‘Please, Carol,’ really sees Carol pushing things to see just how real this strange, honest world actually is, but it kinda hurts her pride in the process. And we also see someone else out there who’s not as alone as they thought. Then in episode 5, ‘Got Milk,’ Carol is really diving deep into her investigation, not caring if she ends up lonely. But things are getting scarier – there are howls at night, and it sounds like something new is coming after them!

What is Pluribus about?

The story explores a significant theme related to what Vince Gilligan sees happening in the world today. He explained to ScreenRant that the outcome—whether it’s good or bad, even potentially idyllic—is left for the audience to interpret.

I’m not going to explain how to interpret this, but I hope it encourages people to consider if there’s a different path forward than the one we’re currently taking in the United States.

Honestly, what you get out of the show is really up to you. The creator, Gilligan, put it perfectly – it’s just TV, not a life-changing miracle. But he hopes it’ll make people think, maybe even question what kind of world they want to live in. They really tried to make this apocalypse feel different from anything else out there, and I think they succeeded. It’s not about escaping reality, but maybe reflecting on it.
