We’ve been waiting for this since 2023. Druid is finally coming to Path of Exile 2, along with a free weekend. We know the release date

While the complete release of Path of Exile 2 isn’t until next year, a major update is coming this December. Best of all, it will include the Druid, a character class players have been eagerly waiting for.

  1. Update 0.4.0 is titled The Last of the Druids.
  2. The full content of the new version will be revealed on December 4th at 11:00 am PT during a live stream on Twitch.
  3. The release of The Last of the Druids is scheduled for December 12th at 11:00 am PT.
  4. Just like with The Third Edict update, the first weekend with version 0.4.0 is gonna be free. There are no content or platform restrictions, and you can play continuously until December 15th at 11:00 am PT.

The druid is finally ready

Fans were thrilled with the reveal of the Druid class, and understandably so – they’d been anticipating it since it was first shown back in 2023. The director of Path of Exile 2, Jonathan Rogers, had previously said the Druid was planned for update 0.3.0, but the development team needed extra time to complete it.

The new class is finally ready to go! As expected, the update will include a variety of new skills, and because this is Path of Exile, all players will be able to enjoy them. You can find some older gameplay footage of the Druid below, but keep in mind that things have likely changed since that was recorded.

Besides the Druid class, details about update 0.4.0 are still unknown. The developers have confirmed significant changes are coming to the endgame. Interviews suggest they’re also considering adding a complete version of Trial of the Ancestors, originally from the first Path of Exile game, and potentially new Ascendancy classes. We’ll have to wait until December 4th for official confirmation.

Path of Exile 2 is available in early access on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
