A new world record for the longest tiramisu was set in London! One hundred chefs worked together to make the massive dessert, which measured an incredible 1,445 feet long.
One hundred Italian chefs came together at Chelsea Town Hall with a delicious goal: to create the world’s longest tiramisu. They were trying to beat the current record of 897 feet, which was set by Galbani in Milan, Italy.
Mirko Ricci, who tried to set a record in London, had previously held the record back in 2017. However, culinary students from Milan surpassed his achievement in 2019.
50,000 ladyfinger biscuits and more than 3,000 eggs
To qualify, the dessert needed to be built right at the event. It included more than 3,000 eggs and 50,000 ladyfingers.
A Guinness World Records official measured the tiramisu and confirmed it was an impressive 440.6 meters (1,445 feet) long, officially giving the record back to Ricci.
The event’s website stated that all money earned from ticket sales and tiramisu purchases would go to the Esharelife foundation. Guests could buy a 2kg tray of tiramisu for £45 (about $60) or a smaller 250g slice for £10 (around $13).
