Fans are getting a glimpse of when Zombieland 3 might happen. The first two Zombieland movies, directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin, were big hits, earning over $225 million worldwide. However, a third movie hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
While promoting his latest film, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, director Ruben Fleischer told Deadline he’d like to make a third Zombieland movie, ideally by 2029.
Although a new project isn’t confirmed yet, director Fleischer hopes to follow the pattern set by the previous films. The first movie came out in 2009 and the second in 2019, so he’d like to release another one every ten years. Here’s the director’s complete statement:
We’re starting to discuss the possibility of making a third Zombieland movie around 2029. The first film came out in 2009, the second in 2019, and we ended that one hinting at a follow-up ten years later. That time is approaching, so we’re beginning to explore the idea. I also have a few other projects in development, so we’ll see which one happens first.
More to come…
