YouTuber Patrick Julianelle, known as PopularMMOs, says approximately $200,000 was stolen from his bank account over several years. He attributes the delay in discovering the theft to his previous issues with alcohol.
The popular Minecraft creator shared in a TikTok video that he discovered the theft only after becoming sober and reviewing his financial records.
Julianelle reported that approximately $200,000 was stolen from her over a three-year period. She explained that she hadn’t been aware of the theft because she wasn’t sober enough to monitor her finances.
Julianelle reported his account was overdrawn and contacted the police. Officers came to his home to investigate a possible theft, and they’ve identified a suspect who will be arrested.
PopularMMOs says dealing with the police was a test for his sobriety
Julianelle has been very public about his difficult journey with alcohol and drug addiction, which has resulted in several legal issues and public confrontations. In recent years, he’s been arrested multiple times for things like resisting the police, attacking an officer, and failing drug and alcohol tests while on probation.
I’m so proud of him! He’s been talking about how getting sober has really helped him get his life and finances back on track. He admitted he lost control for a long time and wasn’t handling things well because of addiction. He recently celebrated 100 days of sobriety, which he says feels like a huge turning point after years of being all over the place. Now, he’s using his voice to encourage others who are struggling, and it’s amazing to see him helping people and staying strong on his recovery journey.
