YouTuber Misha Charoudin gives terminally ill car enthusiast “one last lap” around Nurburgring

Misha Charoudin, a YouTuber and race car driver, recently posted a moving video about giving a terminally ill car lover a final ride around the famous Nurburgring race track in Germany. He called it the “most important lap” of his life.

On May 12th, Charoudin was driving a highly customized Mercedes-AMG GT S around the well-known racetrack. He had borrowed the car from its owner, car enthusiast Arto Alanen, on several occasions before.

About halfway through the video, Charoudin learned that Alanen was unwell and kindly offered to give him one final lap around the track as a driver.

Misha Charoudin says final Nurburgring lap was his “most important”

Charoudin described the drive as “The Hardest, Most Important Lap I’ve ever driven” in an Instagram post with video footage.

Charoudin had driven Alanen’s AMG GT S on the Nurburgring before, but this particular drive felt more meaningful after a conversation he had afterward. He’d completed two laps previously, but this one was different.

After completing the lap, Arto asked me when the video would be released. I told him it would likely be in about two weeks, as I explained in the YouTube video description.

I remember reading about this exchange – apparently, when Charoudin asked Alanen if something was alright, Alanen just casually said, “Yeah, that should be okay.” Then, as they were wrapping things up, Charoudin told him, “Well, see you next time.”

“No, you won’t,” Alanen replied.

Charoudin then invited viewers to form their own opinions before bringing Alanen back onto the track for one last lap.

The video ends with Alanen thanking Charoudin “for all the memories together.”

I saw Misha Charoudin posted something, and Alanen actually commented on it! He said, and I quote, ‘Thank you Misha. That was the most awesome and most memorable lap ever. Thank you for the awesome memories.’ It was just so cool to see them acknowledge each other like that – a really special moment!
