A Chinese keyboard manufacturer has launched a new “foot keyboard” intended for use with a variety of games.
Technology is constantly evolving, and gaming accessories are becoming increasingly unusual. If you’re familiar with the keyboard made from jeans, a keyboard controlled by your feet might not even seem that odd at this point.
Varmilo, a Chinese mechanical keyboard company, has created a unique keyboard you operate with your feet. It’s designed to be placed on the floor, allowing you to press the keys using your feet – exactly as it sounds!
Although it doesn’t resemble a typical keyboard, the product description says it’s compatible with many game genres, like fighting, first-person shooter, and racing games.

Wondering how this works? It’s like having extra buttons you can customize to do whatever you need. For example, if you’re playing a game with lots of abilities, you could assign one to a foot pedal, leaving your hands free.

You can now preorder the Foot Keyboard directly from Varmilo’s website. It’s available in three different setups, starting with a version that has three separate keys: one for your left foot, one for your right, and one centered in between.
I’ve been looking at these, and honestly, the 3-key model is a steal right now – it’s only about $50 because of a sale! There are other versions with more buttons – a 4-key single and a 4-key dual that looks a bit different – but of course, those cost more than the simpler 3-key one.
This keyboard features Cherry MX Silent Black switches and ABS keycaps. To prevent accidental presses, the keys only need to be pressed down 1.5mm to register, with a total travel distance of 3.5mm. The switches require 60g of force to initially activate and 85g when fully pressed.
The surface needs to be solid so you don’t accidentally press the wrong keys. This keyboard connects wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.0 or a 2.4GHz connection, and also has a wired option. You can save up to five devices and easily switch between them using a dedicated button.
