Just three months after releasing Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Hideo Kojima has revealed his next project. To mark the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions, the team hosted an event to showcase OD, a new and unusual horror game developed with Microsoft and powered by Unreal Engine 5. The reveal trailer is available to watch below.
“I really am afraid of big knock sounds”
Details about the game are scarce, and the trailer is intentionally vague. It shows actress Sophie Lillis as someone in a haunted house, lighting candles, before she comes face-to-face with a creepy character. The game, titled *Knock*, features prominent knocking sounds – something the creator, Hideo Kojima, specifically highlighted in the trailer.
I’m afraid of the sound of “knocking,” so I wanted it to be really scary.
So, Phil Spencer from Microsoft Gaming came on stage and gave us some good news! He said the game is really coming along – like, seriously advanced in development. He also promised it’s going to be something special and really push what games can do. And Kojima has been talking about how this game, Death Stranding, is going to be totally different, almost like a new kind of entertainment that mixes gaming and movies in a way we haven’t seen before.
Our only goal is to bring Hideo Kojima’s creative vision to life and deliver enjoyable experiences to gamers everywhere.
Return of P.T.
Players loved the trailer, comparing it to the original P.T. demo – a short, impressive preview of the canceled Silent Hill game created by Hideo Kojima. Because the original demo was so popular, fans are thrilled to see this renowned creator return to the horror genre.
This trailer feels very similar to the old game *P.T.* It’s clear Hideo Kojima has been wanting to explore this concept for a long time, and now he’s getting the opportunity.
It’s like going back to P.T.
Yes! Kojima horror game!
Currently, we don’t know when the game will be released or what platforms it will be on. Given that Microsoft is involved, it’s likely to be exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC, and could potentially be included with Xbox Game Pass.
Death Stranding animated movie
A new animated movie, currently called *Death Stranding Mosquito*, was revealed at the event. ABC Animation is producing it, with Hiroshi Miyamoto directing and Aaron Guzikowski writing the screenplay. The movie will feature an original story, separate from the game’s narrative.
