X now lets users respond to posts with short video reactions, making it easier to share their thoughts and feelings.
You’ve probably seen this on TikTok and other social media: people responding to videos by adding their own reactions on top of the original clip. They might point out errors, share their thoughts on an image, add a new twist to a joke, or simply create a funny remix of someone else’s content.
Now, X is adding a new feature that allows users to respond to tweets with short video recordings of their reactions and opinions.
Users can now react to X posts with short videos
X recently launched a new feature called “React with Video.” According to Nikita Bier, X’s Head of Product, users can now repost content and immediately record a video reaction to it.
Okay, so commentary is HUGE on X, right? And honestly, sometimes just typing things out isn’t enough – you really want to show what you’re thinking. That’s why I’m super excited about this new feature! Now, when I see a post I want to react to, I can hit the repost button and instantly start recording a video response. They’ve even got cool options like green screen and split screen to make things really interesting… it’s a game changer!

So, Bier says we’ve got a bunch of cool options for how we see things. Like, I can use a green screen to put myself in the game, do a split screen with a friend, or even have a little picture-in-picture going so I can see what’s happening while I react. It’s awesome because it lets me play with the content in a bunch of different ways.
Bier highlighted that sharing your opinions is a key part of X, and video is a great way to do it, as he demonstrated the new feature.
As a big fan of X, I’m really excited about this! It feels like a huge step forward in their focus on video. It’s going to give creators – and all of us users – so many more ways to connect with what’s happening, whether it’s news, funny memes, or just the latest trends.
When it first became available, React with Video was only for iPhones and iPads. X hasn’t said when Android users will be able to use it yet.
