Minecraft is known for its building, survival challenges, and creative freedom, but it actually does have an ending. A dedicated community has sprung up around completing the game as quickly as possible – speedrunning – and recently, a player named xQc set a new world record.
Minecraft speedrunning fans know about the long-standing competition between Forsen and xQc to beat the game as quickly as possible. They’ve been challenging each other since 2020, and their rivalry has dramatically improved times – initially over an hour, now down to a remarkable 15 minutes, a record set by Forsen in 2023.
After nearly three years, Forsen has been overtaken as the Minecraft speedrunning champion. xQc recently finished the game in 14 minutes and 27 seconds, beating Forsen’s previous record by over a minute.
xQc beats Forsen in Minecraft speedrun challenge
xQc recently streamed a Minecraft speedrun on Twitch, trying to surpass Forsen’s record. He’d been improving his own times for the past year, but hadn’t yet managed to beat Forsen by the one minute needed to take the lead.
Five hours later, he achieved his goal, finishing Minecraft in 14 minutes and 27 seconds. This broke the previous record of 15 minutes and 28 seconds held by Forsen. He excitedly celebrated his accomplishment, declaring himself the best and saying he was incredibly skilled at the game. He also told his viewers that he experienced complete numbness throughout his body while fighting the final boss, the Ender Dragon.
It looks like Forsen is struggling and people are telling him to retire. They believe he’s not going to succeed and are jokingly suggesting he return to streaming less often – a reference to him taking breaks, symbolized by ‘going back to the freezer’. The timestamp ’14:27′ likely indicates when this message was posted.

Shortly after that, xQc publicly called out Forsen on X (formerly Twitter), telling him, “You’ve lost, old man. It’s time to retire – you’re not going to win. Go back to streaming in the freezer at 14:27.”
As of now, Forsen hasn’t commented on the new record. However, based on his history over the past six years, he’ll probably try to break it himself.
