Get ready for the world’s first Pokémon airport! This year, travelers will be greeted by huge Pikachu decorations, find hidden Pokémon throughout the terminal, enjoy Pokémon-themed food, shop for exclusive merchandise, and even take special sightseeing buses.
A special Pokémon attraction will open in Japan on July 7, 2026, when Noto Satoyama Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture reopens as “Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport.” The event will last until September 2029.
The recent announcement says you can find all 111 Flying-type Pokémon – excluding their regional and Mega Evolutions – around the airport. The airport itself will also be decorated with a Flying-type theme, including decorations on the entrance, boarding gates, walls, and signage.
A massive Pikachu float and airplane balloon are the main attraction in the airport’s large, open second-floor atrium, with Pokémon of the Flying type appearing to soar all around it.

Visitors arriving at the airport will be greeted by a large art installation called “Akarui Mirai” (Bright Future). Created in 2024, this artwork aims to support the rebuilding of the Noto region after the recent earthquake.
Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun, originally seen in the airport’s artwork, have now been made into large 3D statues to greet visitors.
The charming Pikachu theme continues to the observation deck, featuring adorable figures set in a rural scene with plenty of hidden Pokémon for fans to discover. Visitors can also enjoy a special animated short on their phones while at the airport.
The Pokémon Company has been secretive about some details, but we’ve learned one episode, called “Fly, Bagon!”, centers around a Bagon who dreams of flying. The episode shows Bagon training under a Salamence statue at an airport.
The airport will be decorated and will also offer special Flying-type Pokemon merchandise. This includes original artwork with rainbows and travel themes, representing hope and adventure. You’ll be able to find items like T-shirts, keychains, luggage tags, and suitcase belts in the airport’s souvenir shop.
If you get hungry while searching for Pokémon, you can enjoy Pokémon-themed pancakes and drinks.
So, I heard they’re building a new airport in the Noto region, and it’s all thanks to Pokemon! It’s part of a bigger plan to help the area recover and bring in more tourism. Apparently, they’re not stopping there – they’ve got tons of cool attractions and travel stuff planned to roll out before the airport even opens. It’s pretty exciting for anyone who loves Pokemon and wants to explore the region!
To celebrate, The Pokémon Company has created a new, fun experience: a Pokémon-themed footbath! Visitors can relax and soak their feet while enjoying views of Water-type Pokémon like Gyarados, Vaporeon, Psyduck, Poliwag, and Quaxly.
