It’s Thanksgiving, and that means new hints for Cookie Jam are here! This weekend’s Buzzwords challenge starts with a pretty easy puzzle, but if you’re stuck, we can help. The answer to the clue, “When clouds get too heavy, it will [blank],” is coming up next.
Answer to “When clouds get too heavy, it will” in Cookie Jam
This isn’t the hardest challenge you’ll face, but it’s still smart to verify your answer if you’re uncertain. With that said, here it is:
- When clouds get too heavy, it will [blank] – Rain
Rain happens when water droplets or ice crystals inside clouds get too heavy to stay afloat. This begins when warm, moist air rises and cools, turning the water vapor into tiny droplets or ice crystals. These particles float around inside the cloud, constantly colliding and merging to become larger. As long as they’re light enough, air currents keep them suspended, but eventually they become too heavy and fall as rain.
As water droplets in clouds get bigger and heavier, they eventually fall back to earth. Gravity pulls them down, and what happens next depends on the temperature of the air below the cloud. If it’s warm, they fall as rain. If it’s cold, they can freeze and become snow or hail. This is how we get the regular pattern of rain and other forms of precipitation.
