Lisa Catalano, known for her ‘Marry Me’ billboards in San Francisco, is going on a date! She received applications from thousands of men after putting up the signs, and has now chosen someone.
These days, there are lots of options for single people looking to date. From swiping on dating apps to using Facebook Dating and attending speed dating events, there’s something for everyone.
In September 2025, Lisa Catalano took a bold approach to finding a partner. The 42-year-old rented billboards along a 50-mile section of Highway 101, between Santa Clara and South San Francisco, directing interested men to her website, MarryLisa.com. She also placed advertisements inside San Francisco taxis.
People looking for a match could browse Lisa’s profile, where they saw what she was looking for in a partner, her dealbreakers, and funny comments from her friends.

MarryLisa gets a date for Valentine’s Day
After the billboards went viral, Catalano received 4,000 applications. She narrowed the pool down to 50, then to 20, and finally selected the last five candidates.
She’s had a few relationships with men she met through advertising, including some in late 2025.
Interestingly, she’s currently dating someone she met outside of that situation. According to the California Post, they’ve been together for about a month and even celebrated Valentine’s Day together.
Catalano also told KRON 4 News that her current partner “did see a billboard at one point.”
She also mentioned the taxi ads ended in January, but she had a special Valentine’s Day campaign with ads on 14 billboards.
Honestly, when I saw the responses, so many people clearly didn’t take it seriously! A lot filled it out as a joke, or they just weren’t looking for the same things I am – like, they didn’t even want to get married, which is a total dealbreaker for me. It was a bit frustrating to see!
“I started it as a joke out of frustration, and it just kind of snowballed from there.”
Lisa is continuing to share updates with her fans on TikTok, and plans to share the total cost of everything once she gets engaged. She joked, “Everyone will be surprised by how much I’ve spent!”
