Meet Bombsight, a newly introduced character in The Boys Season 5 with a shared past with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). This character is connected to the upcoming spinoff series from Prime Video. Be warned – spoilers follow!
This season has seen the introduction of new heroes like Teenage Kix and Maverick, but the main storyline follows Butcher, Hughie, and their team as they desperately try to find a way to eliminate Homelander. Their plan involves a dangerous virus specifically designed to target people with superpowers.
To rescue Butcher, Starlight, and Kimiko, the team is searching for old samples of V1 – the original formula Frederick Vought created to give people superpowers, which would also protect them from the virus.
In Season 5, Episode 4 of The Boys, MM and Frenchie’s hunt for the vials leads them to Fort Harmony. However, instead of finding the V1, they discover a broken-into, rusted safe and some heroin. This new evidence suggests that the supe known as Bombsight is involved.
Who is Bombsight? New supe will be in The Boys spinoff, Vought Rising
I’m so excited! They’re finally starting to film the ‘Boys’ prequel, ‘Vought Rising,’ this month! It’s going to be an origin story for Soldier Boy and Stormfront, which I think is a brilliant idea. Apparently, it’s a murder mystery set way back in the 1950s, and the cast is amazing – Jensen Ackles, Aya Cash, Mason Dye, Elizabeth Posey, and Will Hochman are all going to be in it. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!

So, I just found out about this new supe, Bombsight! Apparently, he’s made with the same stuff as Soldier Boy – that V1 formula. Mason Dye, who you might recognize from Stranger Things, is going to play him. He’s a big deal in this new series called Vought Rising, which is basically a prequel to The Boys. I haven’t seen him pop up in Season 5 yet, but episode four felt like they were setting him up for his own spin-off show on Prime Video. It’s kinda like a sneak peek!
The upcoming series will take place in the 1950s and center around superheroes connected to different branches of the military. Bombsight, with his aviation-inspired look, will represent the air force. He’ll star alongside Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo. Aya Cash will return as Clara Vought, formerly known as Stormfront, but will now go by the code name “Liberty”.
According to MM and Frenchie, Bombsight is one of the first superheroes created by Frederick Vought, a former Nazi scientist working for America. He’s immortal because of a formula called V1, and Soldier Boy also received the same treatment, which explains why he’s still alive.
Bombsight wasn’t in the latest episode of The Boys (Season 5, Episode 4), but he’ll probably appear as the team gets closer to discovering the V1 formula. However, his obvious struggles with heroin addiction could make him unpredictable.
As we anticipate Bombsight’s appearance in Season 5 of The Boys, here’s an update on what we know about Gen V Season 3. You can also find more recommendations for great TV shows this month here.
