- The second part of Where Winds Meet’s Hexi expansion is now here
- Explore the snow-capped peaks around Liangzhou, take on new bosses and join an additional sect
- Wield the new Heng Blade with the first-of-its-kind counter-attack and parrying mechanics
Get ready to explore even more of Where Winds Meet! Today marks the release of chapter two of the highly anticipated Hexi expansion, now available on all platforms. Prepare to be surprised – Hexi isn’t just forests, mountains, and plains; it’s a diverse land that will challenge your perceptions of China.
History buffs know this area was a crucial starting point for the Silk Road. But the Hexi region was also considered a wild, frontier land, and the newly included Liangzhou area perfectly captures that spirit. Instead of vast deserts, you’ll now find snow-covered mountains and fortified towns that marked the edge of the empire.
One of the most significant additions is the Heng Blade, a weapon with historical importance representing the Tang dynasty. It brings new ways to actively block, deflect, and counter enemy attacks – a big shift from the previously available, more passive parrying methods.
Sword Saint
Naturally, there’s also a new sect that you can join in the form of the militarily focused Raging Tides. Meanwhile, new bosses will challenge your prowess in Where Winds Meet as the Moongazing Maiden, Everdeer and the new Town Gate Roar that occupies the conflict-strewn Dasan pass.
I think the Heng Blade will quickly become a popular choice for players. I generally prefer a more proactive playstyle, and I’ve been looking for something like this – it reminds me of the engaging combat in Batman: Arkham Asylum. Definitely worth trying out!
