When to take a bathroom break during Lee Cronin’s The Mummy

Lee Cronin’s new take on ‘The Mummy’ is a lengthy horror film – over two hours long! If you’re planning a bathroom break, we’ve pinpointed the best moments so you won’t miss anything important.

Although it shares a title with the Brendan Fraser film, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy tells a different story: a young girl vanishes, then reappears eight years later as a mummy, and begins terrorizing her family’s house.

Our review of The Mummy gave it a 3 out of 5 star rating. We found it to be a good horror film with strong acting and a few effective scares, though it doesn’t really feel much like a traditional mummy movie.

I just saw the movie, and honestly, you won’t want to miss a single second – it’s that good! I’d really advise staying glued to your seat, but if nature calls, I’ve got you covered. I’ve marked the best (and least disruptive) times to sneak out… but be warned, reading on means I’m about to share some minor spoilers!

Head to the bathroom when cop visits farm in The Mummy

At over two hours long, The Mummy is a pretty lengthy movie! If you need to use the restroom, a good time to pause is when Detective Zaki is checking out the orchard.

The scene begins about 1 hour and 14 minutes into the movie, with Zaki driving to a farm in the countryside. As she approaches, she passes a sign reading “Don’t flood our valley,” a detail that relates to the movie’s ending, though it isn’t crucial to understanding the immediate scene.

Arriving at the farmhouse, Zaki got out of her car and approached the house. After identifying herself as police and knocking on the front door, she went around to the side, unlocked a back door, drew her weapon, and went inside.

The scene switches between Zaki searching the house and Layla driving home. Zaki quickly finds a recording device and removes the tape, then continues exploring and discovers a hidden pyramid-shaped room below the house.

The movie now revisits the area seen at the beginning, so you might want to skip ahead. We see her exploring the pyramid with her gun, almost stumbling over a chain. Zaki then pulls the chain, revealing a hidden door in the floor, and continues further down into the depths.

Around 1 hour and 18 minutes into the movie—about four minutes after that—Zaki discovers something that reminds her of the beginning, and she confronts Layla. After that, you’ll have just under an hour left of The Mummy.
