This year marks the 20th anniversary of the film *Brokeback Mountain*, and Jake Gyllenhaal recently impressed on the red carpet at the 2025 Primetime Emmys. He’s nominated for his leading role in the limited series *Presumed Innocent*. Like other shows such as *American Horror Story* and *Monster(s)*, *Presumed Innocent* is planned as an anthology series, and it’s been nominated in the limited series category in its first season. Matthew Rhys will star in the second season.
Wondering what Jake Gyllenhaal is up to at the Emmys? Will he reconnect with his former *Donnie Darko* co-stars, Seth Rogen and Noah Wyle? Or will he leave as soon as he hears his name? We’re following all of Jake Gyllenhaal’s moves at the 2025 Emmys – see everything here.
He gave Adolescence’s Owen Cooper a little duck.
Just before a premiere event, Jake Gyllenhaal gave a special surprise to his biggest fan, Owen Cooper, all arranged by Netflix. Gyllenhaal gifted Cooper a small rubber duck, similar to one he received before the 2005 Oscars. While giving the duck as a gift, Gyllenhaal reminisced about being nominated for an Academy Award for *Brokeback Mountain*, casually referring to the film as “this movie.” He shared that a friend had sent him a similar duck for good luck years ago. Though Gyllenhaal didn’t win the Best Supporting Actor award that year, everyone hopes Cooper’s duck will bring him better fortune.
He showed up!
Surprised to see a famous actor at the Emmys? Maggie Gyllenhaal arrived with her partner, Jeanne Cadieu. As for Taylor Swift, she’s currently at the Kansas City Chiefs’ first home game of the season, keeping her distance from the awards show.
