Okay, so Paradise filled us in on Teri’s backstory and how it connects to Gary’s in Episode 5. Now I’m really curious about what happens next in Episode 6 – especially if she’s going to finally reconnect with her husband, Xavier!
The first season of Paradise was an exciting mix of mystery, political intrigue, and thrilling action set in a world after a major disaster.
Season 2 launched with several new mysteries and characters. The first episode focused on Annie and Link, while the second continued the story of Xavier Collin, and the third revisited Redmond.

What happened in Episode 5?
Paradise Season 2, Episode 5, showed how Teri and Gary first became friends through a flashback, and also highlighted what’s currently happening between Gary and Xavier.
In Episode 5, Gary tells Xavier what happened leading up to Teri’s disappearance, starting with the reveal at the end of Episode 4 that she had been taken.
So, it turns out there’s this huge flashback, and it explains everything. Apparently, I learn that Gary used to be a mailman, and he became friends with this guy Ennis who was totally obsessed with conspiracy theories. Ennis really got Gary thinking, and that’s why Gary started prepping for the end of the world. It all makes sense now!
Gary discovered his post office used to be a fallout shelter, so he quietly stocked the basement with supplies, preparing for a potential disaster he calls ‘The Day’.
As they traveled to the shelter, Gary invited Teri and a young boy named Bean along, which bothered Ennis. Together, they began building a new life in their underground haven, joining forces with a diverse group including an engineer, carpenter, gardener, mechanic, survival expert, and a nurse.
Gary develops feelings for Teri, but she doesn’t reciprocate them. They decide to remain friends instead.
As the weather improved, the group began to head their separate ways, and Teri set off to find Xavier in Colorado. Suddenly, a train came into view, and it turned out to be carrying some of Link’s team.
Gary and Ennis investigated and discovered the group seemed harmless. However, on their return, Ennis realized Teri would probably accompany them to Colorado, and in a surprising turn of events, Gary killed him.
Gary tells Xavier he used to have feelings for Teri and wants to help bring her and her husband back together. Xavier happily agrees, shaking Gary’s hand and exclaiming, “Let’s go get my wife!”
