After much anticipation, Warhorse Studios has announced they are working on two new games: a sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance and a large, open-world role-playing game based on the world of Middle-earth.
The studio officially announced its future plans on May 20th in a post on X, responding to ongoing speculation following the positive reception of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

“You might have heard the rumours, it’s time to reveal what we are working on,” the studio wrote.
Warhorse then confirmed two separate projects:
We’ve been keeping a secret, and we’re finally ready to share what we’ve been up to! We’re creating an open-world RPG set in Middle-earth, and we’re also working on a new adventure in the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The studio added that it was excited to tell fans more “when the time is right.”
The news officially confirms rumors that have been circulating for weeks about a potential Lord of the Rings game from Warhorse Studios, the Czech RPG developer. These rumors gained traction after reports suggested Warhorse was developing a large, ambitious fantasy project.
Warhorse had hinted its next game would be a large, detailed role-playing game, but didn’t say if it would be set in the world of Lord of the Rings or continue the story of Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Currently, there’s no information on when either game will be released, how they will be played, or what systems they’ll be available on. It’s also unclear if both games will be in development at the same time with separate teams, or if one will be focused on before the other.
