Warframe – Jade Shadows: Constellations launches in July for all platforms

Digital Extremes revealed that the next story update for Warframe, called Jade Shadows: Constellations, will arrive in July on all platforms.

Digital Extremes recently released new trailers showcasing music by the metalcore band ERRA, coinciding with their announcement. Warframe is currently playable on a variety of platforms, including Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, Switch, iOS, Android, and PC. The team behind Warframe has partnered with the metalcore band ERRA and the creators of the BAFTA-nominated animated film THE LINE to announce a new animated short. This short introduces ‘Jade Shadows: Constellations,’ the next major story update for Warframe, which will be available on all platforms in June. Directed by Louve Sarfati Karnas (known for the Hades II trailer) and Warframe’s Creative Director Rebecca Ford, the short depicts a conflict between opposing forces from different points in the future, set within the Warframe universe.

According to Warframe Creative Director Rebecca Ford, telling a compelling story is the most important part of developing the game. Every decision they make is focused on creating a world and backstory that players can connect with on an emotional level. Ford expressed gratitude for the game’s supportive community, which encourages them to be creative and take chances as they build the narrative of Warframe and the players’ experiences within the Origin System. She shared her excitement about collaborating with a favorite band and animation studio to expand the Warframe story, calling it a dream opportunity.

JT Cavey, the vocalist for ERRA, a longtime Warframe player, said collaborating with the game and its creators was a dream come true. He was especially excited when Warframe introduced a character named Erra in the game’s story. As a band of gamers, ERRA was thrilled to be involved, and they hope fans of both Warframe and ERRA enjoy the upcoming content. He ended with a call to action for Warframe players: “Wake up, Tenno!”

Louve Sarfati Karnas, Director of THE LINE, believes nostalgia strongly influences filmmakers. ‘As a very nostalgic person myself,’ she explained, ‘I was constantly surrounded by punk music growing up – whether it was my brother practicing guitar, playing Super Nintendo, or listening to albums on my first MP3 player during car rides and on the way home from school. These experiences sparked my imagination, and I’d often daydream about being on stage with a band or living out grand adventures. This film really brings all those cherished memories to life.’

After showing off the trailer, the Warframe team shared more news about Jade Shadows: Constellations. This included a sneak peek at the new Quest, upcoming Protoframe customizations for Ash and Garuda, improvements to Nidus’ abilities, and the return of the Operation: Belly of the Beast clan event next month in May.
